GTA 5 – sales exceeded 100 million copies!
The sales of Grand Theft Auto V have exceeded the threshold of 100 million copies. The hit of Rockstar Games studio is only the third game in the history that managed to achieve such a result.
Take-Two Interactive company boasted that the sales of Grand Theft Auto V have exceeded 100 million copies. It is just the third game in the history that managed to do that.
The leaders, when it comes to the number of buyers, are still Minecraft, with more than 150 million copies, and (452 million only on mobile devices). But undoubtedly, GTA V earned more because the game itself is more expensive, and it also has very advanced system of micropayments in GTA Online.
A quick reminder: Grand Theft Auto V made its debut in 2013. Initially it was available only for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A year later the version for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One appeared, and in 2015 the PC players could join the game.
The network mode in the form of GTA Online plays the crucial role in the unabated popularity of the game. It turned out to be so popular that the authors of the game decided to focus on its development instead of preparing storyline DLCs after the premiere.
GTA Online’s Future Amidst Red Dead Redemption II’s Release
