The GTA 6 launch – when will the most awaited game finally be on the horizon?

GTA 6 is a game that millions of players have been looking forward to for years. It seems that the Grand Theft Auto VI premiere is coming shortly. What else do we know yet and can guess about the upcoming release of the Rockstar Games studio?

The game being in development is a fact, but still, we know little about it. Some say that Grand Theft Auto VI will be one of the first megahits in the console generation; others say that it’ll be a memorable goodbye to the current version. But more relevant than what platforms it’ll be available on, there is an answer to the question of the date of GTA 6’s launch.

‘GTA 6’ launch – when will it be?

GTA 6 will debut on the market no sooner than next year, and most likely, it’ll be in a couple of years – for instance, 2022. This is what more or less official information says, that comes either directly from Rockstar Games or journalists referring to the trusted sources. According to them, the works on Grand Theft Auto VI are in the early stage, and a lot has yet to be done until an end product comes to light.

On the one hand, it may be surprising because Grand Theft Auto V was launched in 2013, so a lot of time has passed since then. On the other hand, the Rockstar Games team can be somehow ‘justified,’ which is a fact that over the years, they have intensively developed GTA Online, which is an online version based on GTA V. After all, it became one of the revenue sources for ‘The five.’

This is the most extended break in the history of the Grand Theft Auto series

Regardless of whether GTA VI will actually debut next year or as far as 2020, the interval between the releases will have been at least 8 years. Never has it been so long in the history of the Grand Theft Auto series. Previous releases were launched in the following years:

  • Grand Theft Auto – 1997
  • Grand Theft Auto: London 1969 – 1999
  • Grand Theft Auto: London 1961 – 1999
  • Grand Theft Auto 2 – 1999
  • Grand Theft Auto III – 2001
  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – 2002
  • Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – 2004
  • Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories – 2005
  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories – 2006
  • Grand Theft Auto IV – 2008
  • Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned – 2009
  • Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars – 2009
  • Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony – 2009
  • Grand Theft Auto V – 2013
  • Grand Theft Auto Online – 2013
  • Grand Theft Auto VI –?

We’re to wait for GTA VI. But we hope it’s worth it.

GTA V is one of the best-reviewed games in history and a bestseller, with a whopping 115 million sold items. Thus, it’s evident that expectations towards GTA 6 are high. Unfortunately, the creators haven’t spilled the beans on their new release. The two hypotheses can be found online.

The first says that GTA VI will be the most significant release in history – with an enormous world stretching over the two Americas (or at least some part of one and the other – from Vice City and Liberty City through Mexico, as far as Cuna, Bolivia, Columbia, and Brazil). The action is set in the seventh and eighth decade of the last century, and the plot relates to Pablo Esobar’s history.

The other version suggests that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be smaller and grow over time, thanks to the following extensions. Such a strategy worked fine in the case of GTA Online, so Rockstar has its point to believe it will do the same on this occasion.

What’s new in GTA 6? We can only guess

There’s no official information, so one can only speculate. It’s said, for instance, that GTA 6 will be more realistic, which can introduce restrictions towards the number of weapons our character will be holding. And talking about the latter, we’re likely to get back to one protagonist, and his development may be of more significance.

It’s also said that contrary to what ‘The Five’ offered, the Rockstar team will want to prepare a ‘joint experience’ in GTA VI. This means that the online mode won’t be separated from the one-player – instead, we’ll be able to go through a feature campaign alone or with fellow players.
