GTA 5 Mobile: Will Grand Theft Auto V come to iOS and Android?

Is Rockstar planning on releasing a mobile version of GTA 5?

Will GTA 5 for mobile devices ever be put to life? This is an everlasting question that players keep asking, which Rockstar has kept provoking thanks to the constant transfer of GTA games onto mobile devices in the early years of the App Store. Besides the first several titles, we keep waiting for the first several titles, as well as Grand Theft Auto: London.

But let’s get back to the essence. Rockstar has introduced Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories, and Chinatown Wars with Bully and Maxim Payne. Hence, the grand developer is familiar with transferring its classics onto mobile devices. However, Rockstar’s enthusiasm fell, as did the number of mobile games released. Bully, this game’s most recent mobile port, came out four years ago in 2016.

Rockstar has traditionally transferred its games onto mobile devices on their anniversaries, so there’s hope for the Grand Theft Auto V port. But even being optimistic enough, there’s probably a three-year gap until this release, as this is when the 10th anniversary falls. Yet, another pessimistic perspective assumes that since Grand Theft Auto IV has never got its anniversary mobile port, Rockstar will not publish the mobile versions of these games. Let’s focus on the positive aspects, though, as we will present several rumors and speculations on whether or not GTA 5 may appear on mobile devices.

HAS ROCKSTAR SAID SOMETHING ABOUT GRAND THEFT AUTO V FOR MOBILE?

No, Rockstar has never announced an official Grand Theft Auto V transfer onto mobile devices, so they’re probably not working on it now. We’ll update this section once we hear the news.

CAN I STREAM my GRAND THEFT AUTO V GAME ONTO a MOBILE PHONE?

Yes, of course, you can now play Grand Theft Auto V on mobile devices via streaming from your PC or, in some cases, your console. First, you must own a PC or compatible console, an internet connection (in some cases, the home broadband), and a copy of GTA5 for this platform.

WOULD THEFT AUTO V RUN ON smartphones?

Evidence shows Grand Theft Auto V can be played on selected mobile devices. Apple has compared its new device, iPad Pro, which led to the conclusion that its efficiency is the same as that of Xbox One (namely efficiency in games). One game from the current Xbox One and PS4 collection may appear on mobile devices in some form.

Grand Theft Auto V initially appeared on Xbox 360 / PA3, and many games for these platforms have also been designed for mobile devices. These are XCOM, Minecraft, Limbo, The Last Remnant, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and Fortnite. Indeed, Grand Theft Auto V is much more prominent in size and demanding in graphics than the above list, but the transfer technology already exists.

HOW MUCH SPACE would it take?

There’s an even more relevant question: does your mobile phone have enough space to store Grand Theft Auto V? Well, the answer is not apparent, but let’s consider it.

If we were to base our size calculations on the version for Xbox 360, the game takes up to 16 GB of storage, which is significantly higher than even most extensive mobile games, with a maximum of 4GB at most.

Nevertheless, 16 GB could be stored on many modern devices, and perhaps Rockstar could compress this size even more.
